Humberside Wargames Society will be teaming up with Geek and Sundry to promote International Tabletop Day by inviting everyone to come and play a weekend of games with us!
Starting 28th April at 10:30am a whole slew of tabletop games will be available for anyone to drop by and play.
Don’t know the rules? Worried you may play ‘wrong’? No problem! Our experienced and patient Game Masters have set up everything for you, so all you need to bring is yourself and a fun outlook.
“But I’m a veteran, is this for me?”, you say? Great! We’re welcoming people of all experience levels. Have a look at our games below and if you wish, bring along your character! Our Game Masters will help to slot them right into their sessions.
We look forward to seeing you there! Find us here!
D&D5e Starter Set – For whatever reason you have accepted a job taking a cart of provisions to the next town over. But the road is not as safe as it appears! Ahead of you, in the middle of the road is a dead horse littered with black feathered arrows. What do you do?
Star Wars RPG – An alternative opening to A New Hope, Princess Leia’s ship has crash landed on Tatooine. She has tasked you with finding and extracting a person that could greatly benefit the growing Rebellion. She will draw the troopers of the Empire away to give you a slim chance of success. Can you smuggle the Rebellions last hope off the planet?
Dragon Age – Set in the land of Thedas, mages and Templars clash. Noble and castless, Human and Elf, White Divine and Black Divine. Conflict is everywhere. Who are you in this world? Do you even know yourself?
Deadlands Reloaded (Savage Worlds) – Pinnacle’s flagship product is Deadlands, a horrific journey into the “Weird West.” Mysterious beings called the Reckoners have given life to monsters and magic, causing history to divert from July 4th, 1863 forward. The South has won its independence, California has shattered into a labyrinth of flooded sea-canyons, and a mysterious super-fuel called “ghost rock” has spawned as much war and strife as it has “steampunk” devices.
Players are steely-eyed gunfighters, card-slinging sorcerers called hucksters, mysterious shamans, savage braves, mad scientists, and more who battle against evil and attempt to prevent the “Reckoning”.
Star Wars RPG – Ever wanted to take on the Empire in the Star Wars universe? Now you can! Join a band of Rebel fighters as they attempt to subvert the Empire and in an infiltration mission. If Jedi are more your thing than become one with the Force and save your mentor from a dark force user. The games in play will take you through the basics of the system using characters design for the adventures and ran by a Game Master who knows his Ewok from his Jawa!
The Dresden Files – Neutral Grounds: You’re a regular customer at the coffee shop and bookstore Neutral Grounds (hangout for those in the supernatural community). Its Wednesday morning and you and a small group of other regulars have arrived to find instead of two lattes and a muffin, two dead baristas and a missing hostess. It’s up to you how this story plays out.
Venture City – Welcome to Venture City, a city of superheroes and villainous corporations, and a whole lot of grey in between. A new superdrug is on the streets and the Sprawl is more dangerous than ever, the rumours say it can grant you any power you could wish, but these are simply rumours. It’s a quiet night for you till your phone lights up, “Need your help. High risk, high reward. Barton’s. Midnight.”
Pathfinder – We be Goblins Too: The Licktoads, once the great and fierce goblin tribe in Brinestump Marsh, were defeated by human adventurers! All that remains of the tribe are its four goblin “heroes”—Reta Bigbad the fighter, Chuffy Lickwound the rogue, Poog the cleric of Zarongel, and Mogmurch the alchemist. Homeless and bored, they left their swampy homeland to join the neighboring goblin tribe, the Birdcrunchers.
Starfinder – You have been invited to Absalom Station centre of the Pact Worlds. The Starfinders see you as a potential recruit to their ranks, do you have it in you to seek out new worlds, search for threads of long lost history, promote peace through greater knowledge and technology?
If you would like to secure a spot at one of these games you can email firstname.lastname@example.org or comment on our event listing on Facebook. Drop in’s are welcome.
