In January we were pleased to host a Clash at Kingston Kings of war tournament, it was a roaring success and sold out instantly. We are now happy to say that on the 9th April “Down n Dirty” is returning to Humberside Wargames Society.
Once again the event is kindly being organised by Chris Christophison ( Facebook : A tale of some gamer ). He put together some beautiful tables last tournament and we are excited to see what he has in store for players this time round. More details about his events can be found on the clash at kingston facebook events page
The event is a 1995pt, 3 round tournament using the latest Kings of War suppliment, Clash of Kings 2022. Keeping things simple entrance is once again only £5 getting you a full day of fun over 3 rounds. No food or drink is being supplied by us, but you are welcome to bring your own. Alcohol is accepted within the venue.
There is no parking availble at the venue as such players are reliant on public car parks. If you want more details about parking local to the club please drop us a message.
The basic schedule of the event is below (on phones this is best viewed in landscape). If you don’t feel up to playing please feel free to pop along to watch and chat free of charge. More details will follow closer to the date.

With the reopening of the club we want to speak shortly of the continuing Covid-19 response. We as a society are aware that even with reducing regulations the world and local area is still living through a pandemic. In consideration of this we ask all members be respectful of other’s concerns regarding the pandemic and illness as a whole. We are aware some members are at high risk to the virus and wish them to feel as safe as possible.
We ask all attending the club to sign in and use the NHS app when possible. A venue scan in poster is by the door. Should you feel ill, have received a positive test within the last 14 days or live with someone who has had a positive test within the last 14 days we ask you to please not attend the club.
Each area of the club has hand sanitiser available for use, please sanitise as you enter the room and move between areas. We also have disposable masks available if desired. Please ask a committee member should you need one.
To make sure the club is safe as possible we are going to continue to ensure all gaming areas are sanitized after use. We are also implementing a three day quarantine policy for any club games after use, please let a committee member know when you have finished with a game and it will be stored away from others till this period is up.
Should you have any concerns or queries please contact one of our committee members.
Join us Saturday 7th August from 1pm to see how the room refurb has progressed and play some games with us. We will be hosting;
We hope to see you there.
The committee met on Saturday 31st July to review the current process of the club room’s refurbishment. We are happy to announce that the club room will be able to reopen to games from the 7th August.
We thank all club members for their patience while the works were being completed.
We have been hard at work adding to the club new storage solutions with the aim of increasing the space availible and reducing the sound polution betweeen the different gaming areas
Thank you to all members who helped with the mammoth list of jobs that needed completing; cleaning of the club, carpet fitting, building the new units, just to name a few ways members have helped. We wouldn’t have been able to do it without your help.
We still have to organise the games, book, mini’s etc into their new homes, but with the larger projects now complete we feel it is the right time to reopen the space to what we do best, gaming. We just ask for your continued patience while this is completed over the next few weeks.
Should you wish to move your game to the club or start a new game in our space please contact us here, through our discord or by speaking to one of our committee members directly.
We hope to see you all in the club very soon.
The cleaning of the club started in earnest today with committee members in working through the afternoon summer heat. Their efforts today to improve the space is greatly appreciated.
We have had a nice response from club members willing to give up their time and help ensure the room is clean and clear for our refurb plans. If you would like to help or have things at the club you are able to take home temporarily we would love to hear from you.
The next push with cleaning the room is Tuesday 12th July between 12 noon and 4pm lead by Mal from the committee. The cleaning materials are all within the club but need the bodies to put those materials to use.
We look forward to sharing more details with you soon.
With the confirmation from the government regarding the release of most restrictions in England a big question on member’s minds is when the club room will be reopening. On Saturday 10th July the committee met up to discuss not only the reopening but ways the club could be improved to make it a nicer place for members to game and socialise.
I am sorry to say that on the 19th July we will not be reopening. In place of reopening the club will be immediately taking on the task of deep cleaning and renovating the club space. The plans we have in place excite us and we are certain you will love them too. With the size of the club this is no small task so we are asking for willing members to join us in the effort of making a nicer space for us all.
To help us with the project we would like to clear the space as much as possible. To aid this we ask that any members with property stored at the club and the ability to temporarily store it elsewhere contact a committee member to organise collection.
Our Committee member Mal ( @Ubberrick on our discord server ) has kindly volunteered to manage the project. Should you be willing to help with the project please contact him or speak to your friendly neighbourhood committee member.
We have set a soft completion date of the 7th August. Set the date in your calendar as we aim to host an event to celebrate the reopening with a bang!
