This Saturday (22 February) marks the annual meetings for 2024. Starting at 2pm within the club. All are welcome, and all are encouraged to come to see what is happing with our beloved club.
“Meetings Plural?” you might ask.
Yes there is in fact two meetings the first is the final Annual General Meeting for Humberside Wargames Society. The Society in the form it has been for the last 50 years is coming to a close.
Initially we welcome you to celebrate the legacy of what the club has been so far. What has brought us together and what we have grown to love.
The second meeting is the first Annual Meeting of Humberside Wargames C.I.C.
This meeting both serves as an introduction to what the club is becoming, and will be when the management of the club is formally passed across to a management committee. This management committee will complete the day-to-day management with the assistance of the Directors
Within this meeting you will be able to ask the Directors for further details about how the C.I.C. operates. We put some details regarding this in our update post a couple of weeks ago (seen here). There will also be the opportunity to put forward projects for the committee and Directors to look into for the year. Though if you have such projects we thoroughly recommend you considering joining the committee itself.
How to Get involved with the Management Committee.
There are four spaces available for attendees of the club that wish to get involved with how the C.I.C. operates. This year is an exciting one for the development of the club as we find our feet and help guide projects that are important to you as someone who uses our facilities.
To become a member of the committee you must have attended at least 5 sessions within the last 3 months and have someone who has also attended at least 5 sessions in the last 3 months willing to second you.
